As spring unfolds, we’re answering the season's call to come back to the senses – leaning into flavour and feeling as the natural world wakes up.
To celebrate this awakening, and the arrival of our Spring Menu, we invited our friends to a Very Important Baker’s Tea Party. For the evening, our Paddington Basin bakery was transformed into a whimsical world of sensory delight, designed to stir taste, scent and sight in equal measure.
It was a place where nothing matched, but everything belonged. A long, twisted table wound its way through the space, carrying towers of teacups, tall, colourful candle sticks and a mountain of hot cross buns.

Our guests – from loyal regulars to members of the local community – sipped on bright, flower-strewn iced teas and champagne. With our new embroidered totes in hand, they created a rainbow of pastels, mingling and meandering among platters of finger food. As they savoured the bright flavours of spring, guests were invited to take daisies from a rack of bouquets and add a personalised embroidery to their tote.
There were cakes sporting generous crowns of frosting, savouries rich with spice and zest, and cookies oozing with jam. By the end, the once overflowing platters were bare – a sign of a good party, if we may say so ourselves.
