We want our bakeries to be places people return to, not just for bread, but for the people they meet and the communities they belong to.


Through Knead for Speed, we've hosted more than 300 runs, welcoming over 11,000 runners into our bakeries. Knead to Read has brought together more than 2,000 readers across more than 50 events, alongside book launches with Penguin Books and emerging authors. More recently, selected bakeries have stayed open into the evening for live music through our Reading Room Sessions.


The day doesn't end when the doors close. Much of the food left at the end of the day is donated through Neighbourly, helping it reach local charities and the people who need it most.


We've also sold more than 400,000 Too Good To Go bags, giving more people the chance to enjoy GAIL's food while helping reduce food waste.
