When it’s too late for a coffee, and too early for something stronger – why not try an iced tea?
Cold-brewing is a unique way to discover new flavour profiles from your favourite teas. By using time instead of heat to extract flavour, cold-brew teas are often lighter and more refreshing than traditional hot teas, making them the perfect option for the warmer months.
Our team has created an easy-to-follow recipe for a refreshing iced tea you can try at home. This tea is made using the cold-brew method, which takes a little longer, but produces a richer, smoother flavour.
We recommend making large batches and keeping them in the fridge for a refreshing option at any time of day.
Ingredients:
2 litres of cold Water
A dash of your cordial of choice (we use elderflower, strawberry and lime or Blackberry for this Darjeeling tea)
25g Darjeeling tea leaves
Method:
- Add two litres of filtered water to an airtight container of your choice.
- Add the tea leaves to your mixture and mix well.
- Leave to steep for 24 hours, and then sieve the mixture into a new pot.
- Serve over ice with and add a dash of cordial.
- Mix well and garnish with a slice of fresh lemon.
